Today, we have released new versions of all Hugin products where we have increased our focus on speed, precision and ease-of-use.
The new version of the Hugin graphical user interface is v6.0 and the new version of the Hugin Decision Engine is v5.3. The main features in this release are: a new platform independent Java based user interface, object-oriented modelling and structural learning.
The New Features
The New Java GUI
The new Java based user interface is available for Microsoft Windows, Sun Solaris, and Linux Red Hat.
Object Oriented Modelling Features
The Hugin GUI (Graphical User Interface) now includes basic support for object oriented construction of Hugin Knowledge Bases. The object-oriented modelling feature provides a powerful mechanism for constructing models with repetitive structures. Furthermore, the object oriented modelling feature allows the user to work on different levels of abstraction when developing knowledge bases, i.e. top-down, bottom-up or a mix of the two.
Structural Learning with Expert Domain Knowledge
The Hugin Decision Engine’s (all the API’s) algorithm for learning the structure of a knowledge base from a database of cases now supports pre-specification of domain expert knowledge.
Enhanced Table Generator
The powerful Table Generator has been extended with new functionality. The abs, ceil, floor, and mod functions and a new distribution have been added.
