This release includes: improved user interfaces for the Troubleshooter, version control and the Graph Viewer. In addition, much new functionality suggested by customers has been
implemented.
Troubleshooter
* The ability to open a model to run immediately in the Troubleshooter by using “Open” in the file menu. This is often much faster than using the “Selector”. In addition, the last 9 opened models can be seen on the lower part of the File menu.
* It is now possible to respond to actions and questions with a single click instead of using the drop down menu. This will make it much faster to test out sequences.
* The ability to see the effect of answering a question at run-time. This is useful to see beforehand what will happen if the question is replied in a certain manner.
* The currently used parameters of the case generator are remembered from time to time, to avoid having to retype them every time.
Author
* It has been made much easier to use version control. By clicking the icon above the TSS tab, a version control window will open, allowing full control over all the actions possible on a single model that is stored in the version control system.
* The Graph Viewer has been improved with printing and better ability to control the layout.
* The list of solutions and questions can now be resorted based on number, name and type, for an easier overview when developing models.
* For solutions, it is now possible to specify a probability that the user will be able to carry out the solution at all. This may be relevant for solutions requiring special parts that are rarely available (e.g., “Try replacing the duplexer in the printer”). If a low probability is specified, the solution will be suggested less often.
* It is now possible to specify that a certain solution or question may only be suggested if the user has exactly the specified level of expertise (not lower and not higher). This allows you to have different user types with different steps available to them.
* It is now possible to see the causes solved by an action even if the causes are collapsed under a higher level cause and thus hidden. This works by highlighting the higher level cause with a different color than the standard one.
* The total percentage for subcauses (obtained by multiplying the relative probability of the subcause with the probability of the levels above it) is now displayed in parentheses after the cause to obtain a faster understanding of cause probabilities.
Support Server
* The ability to embed links to models within the explanation of an action. This allows you to start a model when ending another model. This will be displayed as a link in the HTML interface, and the model links are specified in the explanation editor in the Author.
Search Engine
* the ability to search into models, such that one can for instance search first among the models and then search among the solutions and questions within the model. If any of the steps match the search text, they will be displayed and the model can be started directly with that step as the first step by clicking on it.
Report Generator
* New reports include: average total time of sequences, average time to perform steps within a problem model, average number of steps to resolve an issue.
* A web-based version of the Report Generator is currently under development. This will make it much easier to get reports and in feneral
the tool will become much more flexible and userfriendly.
