POULIN-HUGIN v.1.3 released with full feature set, including hierarchy models:

In corporation with our partner Poulin Holdings we are pleased to announce the latest features upgrade and packaging change to our Bayesian data-mining tool - POULIN - HUGIN Patterns and Predictions.

Our new features include automatic discretization, k-fold cross validation, and hierarchy models. Specifically;

• Two new alternative discretization processes have been added. The user may now select between uniform, supervised, and unsupervised discretization of continuous variables when using one of the -nbm, -tan, -hbnm, or -update options. The default setting is now unsupervised discretization.
• The accuracy command for determining the accuracy of a classification model has been adjusted to implement k-fold cross validation.
• A new option -hnbm has been added to the ph command. This option supports the construction of Hierarchical Naive Bayes Models. This is useful for identifying potential hidden variables in data. Note: This is only available with POULIN-HUGIN Pro.

Meanwhile, we have focused our marketing strategy to better serve our research customers.

POULIN-HUGIN Trail will continue to be a full featured free research tool.
