Hugin Advisor 4 has been released

This release includes: highly improved user interfaces for the Author and the Troubleshooter, html editing of explanations, context sensitive help in the Author and much more functionality.

General

  • ".tss", ".net" and ".tms" are now associated with respectively the Author, Troubleshooter and TMS Editor, so it is easy to open files just by clicking on them.

Troubleshooter

  • Major changes to layout for increased user-friendliness.
  • A toolbar with icons for commonly used functions have been added.
  • The current step window has been changed to a browser window for increased ability to show graphics and HTML links.
  • Answers can now be selected by clicking HTML links in the current step window.
  • The effect of answering a question can now be seen prior to actually answering the question, by first selecting the question and then pressing the "Effect" button.
  • The current status of all submodels in a supermodel can be viewed simultaneously by selecting "View Submodels" under the "Tools" menu.

Author

  • Major changes to layout for increased user-friendliness.
  • Three new major tabs for quick editing of Causes, Actions and Questions.
  • A toolbar with icons for commonly used functions have been added.
  • New menu topic "Try in Troubleshooter" that allows you to quickly try out a new model in the Troubleshooter.
  • All explanations can now be previewed in a browser window, making it very easy to specify HTML tags for more graphical explanations.
  • Full import / export of models using XML is now possible. This makes it possible to specify a model completely outside the Author and then import it.
  • A full context sensitive help system has been added to the Author.
  • When a different language than English is used, spell checking is turned off.
  • It is now possible to update many models from a library in one go. This makes it possible to very quickly update an entire directory structure of hundreds of models from a single library that may have been changed.
  • The ability to say that some questions should be fixed with a certain answer, if an action is performed or another question is answered. This makes it easy to quickly answer a set of related questions once a specific action or question is answered.
  • When specifying cause probabilities with sliders, it is now possible to lock a subset of them, and adjust the remaining probabilities. In some situations this makes it much easier to specify the probabilities exactly as desired.
  • It is now possible to sort by columns in the global cost editor.
  • The cost for going into and leaving a submodel can now be specified for each submodel, instead of just an overall value for the entire supermodel.
