The Technology - Bayesian Networks and Influence Diagrams

HUGIN software is based on Bayesian network and influence diagram technology. Bayesian networks and influence diagrams are widely used for supporting decision making under uncertainty. They are mathematically sound and coherent and have incredible power even in very complex situations. The HUGIN Decision Engine (HDE) implements state-of-the-art algorithms for Bayesian networks and influence diagrams such as object-oriented modeling, learning from data with both continuous and discrete variables, value of information analysis, sensitivity analysis and data conflict analysis. The HDE supports function nodes for post-propagation calculations as well as easy web-deployment. The implementation is highly efficient as well as numerically stable and accurate. The HDE and its Graphical User Interface (GUI) are well-known tools for development and usage of Bayesian networks and influence diagrams.
